Hello! This apple crisp recipe looks very yummy. I would just like to know how much of it is okay to eat?
Hi Auriana: That’s the $64,000 question!! Everyone’s tolerance and metabolism is different so there is no specific amount to recommend you eat per serving. It so much depends on how strong your butter or oil is. 10 mg is considered a single dose by the state of Colorado, so you could always use that a jumping off point. To give an example, our coconut oil recipe uses just shy of 2 oz flower (48 grams). To break that down further, I estimate 20% THC in the flower x 48 grams (4800 mg) = 960 mg THC total in the recipe. We use a 14 oz jar of coconut oil, so 960 mg THC / 14 oz oil = approx. 68 mg THC per OZ of oil. The apple crisp recipe uses 1/2 cup (4 oz) cannabutter. 4 oz butter x 68 mg THC/oz = 272 mg THC for the whole recipe. I’ve personally always felt that 10 mg was a weak dose, but again, everyone is different. You can always eat more, but you can’t eat less of this! Go slow and have fun!
